What do we do?

North Yorkshire Forest School Training provides courses that give the skills, qualifications and support network necessary to enable safe and effective play and learning in woodland and other natural outdoor environments.
We are members of the Forest School Training Network GB and The Institute for Outdoor Learning.
Our trainers are qualified teachers and Forest School Leaders with experience of using Forest School within Early Years, Primary and Secondary education and with families.

What are the benefits of Forest School?
There is much research evidence indicating that experience with the natural world is of benefit to children, young people and adults in terms of health and well-being and that childhood experiences of nature affect behaviour and attitude towards the environment as adults.
Evaluations of the impact of Forest School on children have highlighted improved confidence, social skills, communication, motivation and concentration, physical skills, knowledge, understanding and respect for the natural environment.
